Written and produced during the initial pandemic lockdown in Spring 2020, Delight Frozen Over Ether explores the more ambient side of Xarah's works, reminiscent of "La Mal Nécessaire" yet bringing forth a more fully-fledged sonic landscape. Initially intended as a dance song, the tempo was taken to double-time, thus permitting an unrestrained yet supple approach to composition and carving an ample space for the voice to unfold.
Part of the Montreal Dances Across Borders VOL.1, a collaborative digital album bringing together artists of “underground dance music” in Montreal (originally Tiotia:ke in the language of Kanien’kehá:ka people). This project is to remind that this music is above all made to unite through differences, across all types of physical or abstract borders.
All profits from this VOL. 1 will be donated to www.solidarityacrossborders.org — a non-profit organization that works to protect human rights, active in Montreal since 2003.
Had the pleasure to visit Luis Ake's studio last year and sing a few lines in French and German for his slick track "Circus Der Ratten". Love how our voices blend in the chorus! Xarah Dion
